Us San Diegans cannot get enough of the sunset. I mean, I literally cannot go on a day without seeing a sunset story or photo on my feed. I completely get the feeling, sunset just never gets old especially if you live in America's Finest City!
But did you know San Diego also has some amazing sunrise spots? Here are my favorite ones so far!
Coronado Tidelands Park
Just search for Coronado Tidelands Park on Google Maps and it will lead you to the park. When exiting Coronado Bridge, make sure to keep right as you will need to do a right turn in less than a mile. If you live around downtown San Diego, it will probably take you 10 mins to reach Coronado Island. When you get there, make sure to park near the Skate Park, there will be parking after the roundabout. You can then walk towards the sandy beach area to have a better view of the sunrise!

Our Bucky was trying to pose but he got distracted by the other dogs. Yes, the park is dog-friendly!

I could stare at this all day!
Storm Canyon Vista Trailhead
This spot is a little bit of a drive. From downtown, it will approximately take you an hour to get there. Just use the I-8 E until you see an Exit 47 where it will lead you to Sunrise Highway. You can also just route yourself to https://goo.gl/maps/wX4yBPShjjJvzaqt5.
If it's on a weekend, be sure to be there early as parking is limited. It does get very cold there 20 degrees drop from San Diego city so be sure to bring some layers or some sort of windbreakers as it gets very windy there as well. We stayed in our car and had some coffee while waiting for the sunrise.

We reached when it was still a bit dark and the sun was trying to come out from the clouds.

We went on a weekday so no one else was there.

The view was breathtaking. This is not a drone shot! We took our tripod and just raised it up high ;)
After the sunrise, we hiked a little bit towards the vista and came across the well-known Pacific Coast Trail (PCT).

PCT marker. The trail was pretty empty as well.

We just had to! I mean, don't you just love that shot!?
Thanks for checking out my blog! Keep coming back to this page as I will be updating this as I go explore around San Diego.
