When I first got to San Diego, I heard about this secret swing in La Jolla. Little did I know that there are actually three of them! So my search began and I was able to find the other two. These swings do get taken down once in a while due to weather or someone breaking it. But as soon as it's taken down, some one else puts it back up.
What I love about these swings is they are not heavily visited (at least not when I went). Probably because not a lot of people know about them (based on the amount of IG messages I've received about the inquiry of these locations!). They are also spread out in three different locations with three really great views so you can pick whichever swing you want to visit. But if you're like me who wants to know all three of them, here it is! I've linked all the locations so all you have to do is click and it will pop up in your maps!
The easiest way to get here is by going to Birch Aquarium parking lot. Make sure to stay on the path because the surroundings are protected wildlife. What I love about this place is the short hike up. Once you get there, enjoy the view! This is probably the easiest swing to find as it's actually on Google Maps named as "Hidden Swing"!

The map linked to this swing will lead you to the parking area right before the trail on Prospect Pl. The trailhead starts on the neon blue arrow on the left. You will then turn right and follow the path. Use the stairs going down and at the bottom, you will see a white railing on your left that has a trail leading down.

Now, make sure you go when the weather is dry, not rainy (don't be like me)! This particular swing is probably one of the hardest ones to go to because it's steep. If possible, do not bring any valuables or extra bags as you will need BOTH hands to go down. Wear comfortable footwear with good grip or don't wear any footwear at all. You may or may not see a rope tied on to one of the larger trees that will guide and help you in going down. Make sure before coming here, you know the risks involved. The yellow circle is where the swing is located. It may be a challenge to get here, but once you reach the swing, you will be welcomed with such breathtaking views of the ocean.

The map linked will lead you to the street parking right next to the path that leads to the swing. Just follow the arrows. The yellow circle is where the swing is at.
This is definitely my favorite among the three. Probably because one, it is very easy to get to and two, it also has the best view. You'll see the La Jolla Shores, the Scripps Pier, paragliders and hang gliders flying nearby!

Well, there you have it! When visiting these swings, make sure to be respectful of your surroundings - no shouting, no public disturbances and most importantly don't leave any trash - just memories and footprints!
