Skincare Routine

Over the last year, we have all been stressed for so many reasons, COVID-19 being the main one. A combination of the stress and constantly wearing face masks, has made my skin suffer from dryness, redness and breakouts. I come from a family with very sensitive skin, so I grew up accustomed to having a skincare routine. I have lived in three different countries (Philippines, Qatar, USA) and each country's weather and climate has had a different effect on my skin, so I've had to adjust my skincare routine constantly. When I reached the United States, I thought that I could easily find a new skincare routine to stick to. It took me 2 years to finally find the products that work for ME. Although this blogpost has my recommended products, please remember that some of these products may not work for you. Everyone's skin is different. One thing to know about these skincare products is that they are all cruelty-free which is a major thing in our household. So if you're looking for those, then you're in the right place! Now without further ado, here they are!
DAYTIME:
This cleanser is probably the oldest one I've had. This is where it all started when Tula's website asked me step by step about my preference for my routine. From toners to moisturizers. And I was like, what? There's more!? I did end up getting the full set from Tula but sadly, my skin did not like it and I had to eliminate most of the set, only leaving this moisturizer in my routine! This Cult Classic smells really good and it's gentle on your skin.
After washing my face, I love to use this as a toner because it's very refreshing. The fresh mist is good for preparing your face for the rest of the steps. I use it twice a day after cleansing. I let it dry then apply my serums & moisturizers after. I'm not sure if it's just my skin but for me, it looks like the mist really helps the serums & moisturizers set and absorb better.
Okay, isn't this one a cutie?! I'm equally obsessed with how the packaging looks and what this serum does for my dry skin! The smell is very gentle and sweet. The texture itself is dewy, silky and absorbs into my skin quickly. I have sensitive skin and I was hesitant to try this one at first because of some reviews, but it actually works perfectly with my skin!
Day and Night Cream Duo? Yes please! Who doesn't want a dual-purpose product? This cream smells amazing. Its texture is very soft and creamy. I originally received this product for a sponsored ad for COOLA and I ended up loving it so much that I recommend it to all of my friends as well!
This one is probably one of my favorites! Let me tell you, it does not only smell amazing but it also feels great on my skin. Imagine a lightweight moisturizer that gives off a dewy glow. This also acts as sunscreen because it is SPF50. This definitely helps keep my skin moisturized especially when I'm at the beach or hiking. Having sensitive skin, I always prefer moisturizers that are light and don't irritate my skin. This does just that!
NIGHTIME:
I usually use this one 2-4 times per week depending on the need of my skin (in my case, depending on how much time I spend outdoors for that week). But let me tell you, you will definitely see results quickly. This scrub has done wonders for my clogged pores and dry skin. And the bonus is, it smells amazing. I love it so much that I always have to remind myself that I can't use it every night!
This one is extraordinary! I only use this oil every night but I love what it does to my skin. At first, I thought it would be too oily and greasy but that's not the case! The next morning, my face always feels so soft and very hydrated. I noticed it helped my blemishes as well.
As you can already tell, I have very sensitive skin and my skin hates moisturizers that make my face feel greasy. That's why I tend to gravitate to water-based creams. And really, how much more water-based can this product be? It's called The Water Cream! This one has a more watery texture and it works great for my skin. It has a gentle smell and I love how it is lightweight as well. This is basically the COOLA version of the water cream but without the SPF50!
I've seen a lot of skincare routines online but one thing I realized is that they never seem to include pimple patches. Maybe because it's not part of a routine but more of a use it when needed type of product!? But because I know there aren't many pimple patch products out there that I can trust(literally falls apart when I wake up), I thought it would be a great idea to include this right here!!
OK, so first off - packaging! It looks cute. I love the colors they used and not to mention the name! In my experience, packaging for pimple patches are boring (it adds to the sadness you're already feeling when you have acne). This may sound weird and shallow, but these packets cheer me up! I know that's a minor thing, but being an entrepreneurship major myself, I know how much product packaging says about the company and the product! And this one says "hey don't worry, we're here for you!".
Now to the product itself. Do you remember placing a patch on at night and when you wake up the next morning, it's nowhere to be found!? Yeah, I feel you. It's like trusting the patch to heal the pimple (or at least make it look better) but then it falls off and literally leaves you hanging. I'll tell you that this product does NOT do that. It actually STAYS ON and it WORKS! It also comes in different sizes which is way better than having just one size. Bonus - it actually comes with a tweezer and this is very important! You don't want to waste another patch by using your hands that could still have bacteria all over it. So go ahead and click on the link above to purchase these amazing patches!
